REVIEW FOR MARIA

Other Thoughts: I have just returned from the Maria appartments with my partner. (29/8/06) They are very basic to say the least. It was a pleasent suprise to find that our room was air conditioned (this had to be paid for upon arrival) Cleanliness does not seem to play an important part in the owners priorities, although they were very friendlyand made us feel welcome. We stayed for two weeks and our apartment was cleaned only twice during our stay. The bathroom was very dirty and the floor got very slippery at times. (We ended up cleaning it ourselves, and went on a hunt for clean towels) This said the pool area and outside the apartments were kept clean and tidy. Analipsi itself was very quiet, (not a place to go if you are looking for a busy nightlife) The restaurants were very clean and the food was great, it was also very cheap, we struggled to pay anything over ?20 for a three course meal, including wine, for the two of us. The beach was lovely, the sea was very warm. I would definatly go back although unfortunatly it wouldn't be to the Maria appartments.

REVIEW FOR MARIA

Other Thoughts: me and my boyfriend have just returned from two great weeks at the maria apartments. maria was very freidnly and welcoming and all the family made you feel at home. the restaurant attached to the apartments was good value for money and the food was always lovely, as were the waiters. the rooms were basic, there could have been more cutlery/kitchen equipment as it was a self catering apartment but we managed with the few items we had. the cleaner didnt always do a great job although the bins were emptied nearly every day we were there, and the beds made. the pool area and bar were great to sit around. the bus to hersonnisos cost just a euro, took about 10/15mins and the taxi cost 8 euros. it was good at night time, lively, although the place we ate one night wasnt as good as newhere we went to in analipsi. a quick mention also about zoes bar, and the bar opposite zorbas at the back of the apartments, great places to drink. and who could forget the regular singer at la familia - legend!!!! will miss maria and her family and would definately go back!!!

REVIEW FOR MARIA

Other Thoughts: My daughter and I stayed at Maria apartments for 2 weeks in Aug 2003. What brilliant host and hostess in Maria and Michael. They went out of their way to make you welcome. Apartments were basic but ample for what we needed. Food at the pool bar, excellent value for money. After a week they made you feel part of their family. On our last night my daughter cried and cried as she did not want to leave Maria. That says it all. We will definitely be back again and again.

REVIEW FOR MARIA

Other Thoughts: My wife and I and our son (23) and daughter (21) stayed at the Maria Apartments in June 2003. I have never stayed in such disgusting conditions anywhere! When we arrived, we had to wait in the entrance porch whilst our room was cleaned, which took a couple of hours! In our room there were cockroaches in abundance. The facilities in the apartment were sub-basic with only two hot rings to cook on, insufficient crockery and cutlery, no kettle - we had to boil water in a saucepan! There was no air-conditioning and in temperatures between 30 & 40 Celcius it was unbearable. At night we had to have the windows wide open in order to get cool, which left us open to invasion by mosquitos. So it was either roast and not sleep, or sleep and get bitten by hundreds of mosquitos! After two days of this torture we finally managed to get two fans from Maria, who had been giving us all kinds of excuses during the first two days. (She also couldn't speak english very well, which didn't help.) The fans were an improvement, but we had to buy mosquito vapour devices that plug into the mains. The mains sockets were loose and dangerous, only 50% of the lights worked and we had to buy some light bulbs ourselves to get the others working, because we couldn't get Maria to understand that they didn't work! The beds were hard and the sheets never changed. Fortunately the fridge worked, but was in a totally un-hygenic condition when we first moved in with old food frozen into the ice in the freezer compartment which was also totally iced up. I spent two hours just defrosting the fridge which I guess had never been done before. There was also a party of other guests from the UK who were constantly drunk and monopolising the pool, shouting and swearing all the time. The prices of food in the supermarkets and tavernas was exceedingly expensive even by UK standards, a simple loaf of sliced bread, for example, costing ?.25! Meals in the tavernas were all over inflated in the tourist areas and much more expensive than the UK. So be warned - take plenty of money with you! Fortunately there were some good Tavernas in the village which served value-for-money food, and we were able to hire a car, to get up into the mountains where things were cheaper. The beach is also quite good, but the sea can get rough sometimes. The tours and trips organised by Goldensun Holidays were outstanding! The Goldensun rep. was also fantastic and very helpful, even though there was nothing she could do about the accomodation. A suggestion for Goldensun - DUMP Maria Apartments - they give your company a bad name! I will never go there again - Analipsi village is great, but EXPENSIVE! Maria Apartments are SO bad I give them a minus 10!

REVIEW FOR MARIA

Other Thoughts: I stayed at Maria Apts in Aug 2001. I have 3 children but was on a much needed break with my mum and dad, whilst my kids saw their dad. The hosts Maria and Michael (Mick-eye-al) were wonderful. We were treated like family during our stay, and although communication was sometimes a little difficult, we became good friends i think. On both my return visits to Analipsis, I have visited Maria and Michael, and i have been welcomed like family. The pool was a welcome amenity at the apartments, likewise the pool bar..... always served by a smiling Maria, or Michael... constantly fingering his worry beads, after claiming they help him stop smoking (he always seemed to be smoking to me). The apartments were clean, and with everything required to make our stay comfortable, but the main award must still go to the hosts. It is definately worth a stay in this wonderful, friendly apartment, village, island.
